Chainsaw Man anime series is scheduled to release next month on Crunchyroll. Even before the start of the anime, Chainsaw Man has a huge fandom thanks to the popularity of the manga, and it is one of the most anticipated anime of Fall 2022. When the official trailer got released, fans noticed even the slightest of details about their favourite characters.
Makima is an antagonist of the story who manipulates the main character, Denji to do her bidding, and in return, she promises to have a romantic relationship with him. Makima is one of the most popular characters in the series. Alongside the new trailer, the official character designs for the characters were released, and Makima fans have noticed that their favourite character has been slimmed down.
Here is how Chainsaw Man fandom reacted to Makima’s anime character design.
Another Tweet went viral, pointing out that Makima’s fanart exaggerate her character design which completely ruined how she is actually supposed to look like in anime and manga.
Chainsaw Man anime series is based on the manga of the same name, written and drawn by Tatsuki Fujimoto. He started publishing the manga in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in Dec 2018 and ended the first part in Dec 2020. Chainsaw Man part 2 has been serialized in Shonen Jump plus online magazine since July 2022.
Mappa Studio picked up the manga for an anime adaptation, and the 12 episode first season is scheduled to release on October 11. Every anime episode will have a new ending theme song. Crunchyroll will be streaming the series to North American fans.
Crunchyroll describes the anime series as follows:
Denji is a teenage boy living with a Chainsaw Devil named Pochita. Due to the debt his father left behind, he has been living a rock-bottom life while repaying his debt by harvesting devil corpses with Pochita. One day, Denji is betrayed and killed. As his consciousness fades, he makes a contract with Pochita and gets revived as “Chainsaw Man” — a man with a devil’s heart.
